Parent Guidance

About Our Parent Guidance Services

At Shared Vision, we recognize that parenting is a unique and individual experience. Parent guidance focuses on providing you with guidance, tools, and emotional support. It blends practical strategies with a deeper look at the patterns, stressors, and history that shape how you respond as a parent.  As parents, we can struggle to access the parent we want to be or know how to respond in challenging moments or repair ruptures with our kids. Parent guidance is not about becoming a “perfect” parent. It is about becoming more aware, intentional, and compassionate – toward your child and toward yourself.

Services available in person and virtual.

How We Can Help

Parent Guidance can help you:

  • Notice patterns and reactions that happen automatically, even when they don’t fit with your intentions.
  • Develop greater awareness of your own emotions, needs, expectations, and vulnerabilities.
  • Become more able to pause and respond, rather than react, when your child’s needs feel difficult or overwhelming.
  • Explore the tension between your child’s evolving developmental needs and your unique parenting style.
  • Develop greater compassion for yourself as you work toward being the parent you want to be.
  • Repair moments of disconnection and find your way back to connection when things don’t go as planned.
  • Explore how your experiences of being parented may influence your parenting today.
  • Strengthen the skills unique to parenting multiple children, stepchildren, or grandchildren.
